The parents of a 10-year-old Virginia girl died of COVID-19 after her teacher assigned her the role of “class nurse” on Saturday for what they described as a half-hearted investigation into the… the girl’s death.
Teresa Sperry passed away on September 27, just five days after she started having headaches–and six days after her parents said she was tasked with bringing sick children to the nurse’s office. Her parents were not even informed that she had tested positive until two days after her death.
She has enlisted as a class nurse at her school, Hillpoint Elementary, on September 21, which asked her to accompany sick students on their way to the nurse, the school reports. However, the school has maintained strict procedures when handling any child exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms.
